The past several weeks have been busier than normal. And while I try to write a new vintage camera post every two weeks, I just haven’t had the time. I’m working on one – I have two rolls of film shot and another in the camera – but it will be next week before I’ll finish it up.
In the meantime, however, I thought I’d do a quick post on what’s been going on over at my Instagram account. I love vintage cameras, as you can probably guess. But I also love the history that was created with them. Consequently, another one of my hobbies is collecting vintage photographic negatives and plates. If you already follow me there (@vintagecameradigest) these will look familiar. If not, I hope you’ll enjoy these.
These photos date back to 1906 and 1913. They are scanned from the original glass plate negatives. All are originally 4×5″ or 5×7″. And I’m sure they were taken using a vintage camera 🙂

Sometimes I think old photos looks better than new photos. Technology is going backward.

I certainly appreciate the old photos more since I realize just how much effort went into producing them. Quite the undertaking!

I’ve seen some old 120 frames – snap shots (eg. with a ford model A in it so you know the time frame). I dare to say some those negatives are so perfect that I could not replicate myself with ‘modern technology’.
