Tower (Sears Roebuck & Co.)

Sears Roebuck & Company sold many, many cameras over the years that were manufactured for Sears by many different companies. Sears mostly branded these as “Tower” – a nod to the famous Sears Tower in Chicago. For most of the cameras bearing the Tower brand, you could also find the same camera branded by the original manufacturer. Take Ricoh, for example. In the late ’70s to mid-’80s, most of Sears’ SLRs were built by Ricoh – who also sold these SLRs under their own brand.
