Ricoh (Riken Optical)

Riken Kankoshi Co. was founded in 1936. In 1937 they bought the Olympic Camera Works to begin production of their own cameras.

Ricoh has produced many models of cameras over the years for third parties – Sears Roebuck is one of them. At the same time they also released their own branded models of the same cameras. More recently, Ricoh acquired the Imaging Systems business of Pentax and became known as Pentax Ricoh Imaging.
