There are a few things to note concerning the list.

First, this is by no means a complete list. This is an on-going project. There are many cameras not listed here. But I will add them as I find published pricing info on them.

Secondly, some cameras may not be listed alphabetically within their own manufacturers group. When I began this list on a spreadsheet three years ago I was satisfied to just get the info in there. I am going through the lists as I have time to correct this.

Thirdly, the year listed is not necessarily the year the product was introduced. In some cases it just reflects the earliest published price that I could find. The dates and prices published here, therefore, are subject to change as I find better information. In a lot of cases, for example, I’ve been able to find the original MSRP for the cameras and have listed them. BUT, most cameras were never sold at those prices. I will always update the prices with actual “selling” prices when I find them.

And finally, the 4th column credits the source of the information. MP = Modern Photography Magazine, PP = Popular Photography Magazine, USCam=U.S. Camera Magazine.
