1980

The ME Super replaced the ME in 1980. It remained similar in use – although the shutter speed choices were slightly different: the ME had a range of 8s – 1/1000, whereas the new ME Super had a range of 4s – 1/2000. The main difference in the two models was that the ME Super added full-manual control to the camera in addition to the aperture-priority exposure mode. It uses a vertically-traveling metal shutter curtain that allows X-sync at 1/125 (as most vertical-travel shutters do).
The ME Super is also notable as being one of the smallest-bodied 35mm SLRs ever produced.
