1977

The Canon AT-1 was released in 1976 a few months after the highly-successful AE-1. The cameras appear similar on the outside, but the AT-1 features only a manual exposure mode. Like the AE-1, the shutter is electronically controlled, and the camera shares many of the technical advances of it’s upscale sibling. This allowed users to buy into the Canon system at reduced cost.
